Board Certified Pediatrician
New hospital is seeking a Pediatrician to work in the labor & delivery unit.
Outpatient family care practice currently with two full-time providers and 1 part-time provider. Pediatrician is needed to cover the inpatient side of things - pediatric admissions & newborn nursery. Coverage is needed 24/7. One provider is planning to relocate - so this can be a FT position. However, it will require inpatient, outpatient and 10 days of call per month. Open to FP or Peds with experience/ training in newborn and inpatient work. Note - the volume will probably be minimal for the first 90 days @ least. Anticipation of 125 delivers between November 2-17 -- June 2018 & around 25 pediatric admissions.
See patients in the office setting, admit and round on pediatric patients, and cover the newborn nursery, and take call for the practice.
MD or DO
Completion of an ACGME or AOA approved post graduate training program in pediatrics with certification by the applicable board.

Essential Job Duties & Functions:
Patient Evaluation & Management: Standard: Performs medical screening examinations for pediatric patients. Examines patients, obtains histories and performs physical exams. Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality. Admits and rounds on pediatric patients in the inpatient setting. Provides coverage for the newborn nursery, and takes call for the practice.
Customer Service: Standard: Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality. Works with the healthcare team to ensure orderly environment and efficient function of the practice. Cooperates and maintains good working relationship with internal and external customers.. Participates in hospital related community events.
Fiscal Responsibility: Standard: Maintains cost effectiveness through prudent use of supplies and equipment. Clear, concise documentation of care provided to comply with Hospital, JCAHO, and CMS requirements. Completion of all patients’ charts as per the "Chart Completion" policy.
Critical Performance Criteria: Standard: Seeks out appropriate persons using established lines to resolve issues. Maintains confidentiality regarding patients, visitors and hospital business. Successfully passes Annual Employee Update. Completes all mandatory training. Participates in Medical staff committees as assigned. Adheres to VCU CMH policy and procedure. Accepts responsibility for projects and other duties as assigned. Meets mandatory CME for Specialty. Participates in disaster drills.
