Weekend LPN or RN - Immediate Coverage
Immediate weekend coverage is needed!!
LPN or RN needed for weekend shifts for a methadone clinic. Shifts are Saturdays & Sundays from 6am - 11am. Previous experience working in a methadone clinic is preferred but not required.
LPN or RN is responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of medication to patients admitted.LPN/RN is responsible for providing medical services directly to patients and for maintaining the appropriate records and medical files according to Virginia State and Federal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently dispenses daily doses of medication in accordance with Virginia State and Federal regulations.
Maintain current inventory of medications and medical supplies in a secure environment.
Assessment of patient’s physical condition; Collects specimens for drug screens; Reports observations to supervisor either verbally or in writing.
Maintains in a timely manner all medical records including but not limited to individual charts, daily medication charts, dosage records, progress notes, Doctor’s orders, etc. as required.
Alert treatment staff of any observed changes in patient’s status.
Account for all medication used during a dispensary shift. Ensures accuracy of records to avoid medication discrepancies and take corrective action as needed.
Explains proper use of dispensing medication and its effects to clients.
Enforces dispensary policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate dispensing records.
Daily review of medical orders and recording of changes.
Performs TB tests.
Ensure that the treatment plan of the physician or medical director is being followed.
Monitors patient’s response to treatment and medication dosage when they come for dosing for signs of over-sedation and illness.
Consult with the Nursing Supervisor or MD on duty when any questions or concerns arise.
Participates on the infection control and safety committee and monitor the infection control and safety plan.
Discusses with treatment team important changes in treatment or noted patterns of behavior effecting treatment.
Inventories and ensures ordering of needed supplies.
Other related responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in training staff in medical matters and patient care; attendance at professional meetings as required; assists Doctor during physical exams when asked; keeps dispensing room clean and orderly; maintains medical equipment.
Must be either a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in the State of Virginia
Must maintain continuing education credits as required by the VA board of Licensure and organizational needs and State and Federal Regulations require;
One (1) year of experience or knowledge in the field of drug abuse is recommended;
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CPR, First Aid, and Behavior Management training certified may be necessary for this position; and successful completion of specific criminal history and central registry background investigations required for direct clinical service positions. If licensed by the Board of Health Professions or any other similar organization, provide proof of License or Certificate.
Hourly pay rate will DOE.
